Pastor J. Roy Morrison, a native Oklahomian and third generation Baptist preacher, was converted to the Christian faith in 1967 while attending a weekly Worship service at the Central Baptist Church in the city of Muskogee, Oklahoma. Speaking of his conversion experience Pastor Morrison notes -“I discovered that a life without Jesus is a life that is not worth living.”

His ministry spans over a period of thirty years.  Having served in pastoral positions at the New Hope Baptist Church of Columbus, Georgia and the Rehobeth Baptist Church of Catuala, Georgia, he currently serves as Senior Pastor of the Jerusalem Missionary Baptist Church of Los Angeles, California where he has given leadership for (19) nineteen years.

A wordsmith, Pastor Morrison with his down home delivery is noted for some of the most colorful sermons preached from an Afro-American pulpit.  He has authored several handbooks on Discipleship and Evangelism that are regularly used at the Jerusalem Church and other religious teaching settings.  Pastor Morrison has been married to Tracy L. Baker Morrison for (28) twenty-eight years and they are the proud parents of Lamar, Jerry II, Jerricca, Jerrelle and the grandparents of (2) two.
