The focus of the California United Baptist State Convention, since its inception and prior to its incorporation status, has been upon education, evangelism, missions (home and foreign) and the promotion of authentic Christian fellowship.

Greetings to all Convention Members and Friends in the precious name of our Lord   and Savior Jesus the Christ, who has guided our steps, protected and provided for us all the way.

How good it is, my beloved brothers and sisters, to meet together once again to be,“Educated, Empowered & Exhorted to Execute Modern Ministry,” (Titus 2:1-4).  As our Convention continues to grow and to move forward, we come to witness God’s handiwork in the creative work of our Convention.

I am looking forward to seeing all of our Pastors, Ministers and Members at the following meetings; the schedule for our Convention is as follows:

Our Session will begin Monday, August 16, 2010, promptly at 2:00 P.M. for our Opening Session and “BUSINESS PERIOD” with President Morrison; followed by our “WELCOME PROGRAM” and “WOMEN IN RED” at 6:45 P.M.  The keynote speaker for the evening will be Dr. W.T. Snead, Pastor of Temple of God Christian Fellowship, Inc., Los Angeles, CA and President Emeritus of The National Missionary Baptist Convention.

Tuesday and Wednesday Morning at 7:30 A.M. to 8:30 A.M. “The HOUR OF POWER” sponsored by the Evangelical Board, under the leadership of Rev. Herman C. Avery and Rev. Elliot Ivey. Tuesday and Wednesday Morning at 8:45 A.M. “CONVENTION AT PRAYER AND BIBLE STUDY”; Tuesday Evening at 6:30 P.M.  “MINISTRY NIGHT” Ministers Wives, Sister Claudia Powers, President; Health Awareness/Usher’s Sister Albert Lockett, President.  Our keynote speaker for the evening will be Rev. Earl A. Pleasant, Pastor of The Greater New Bethel Baptist Church, Inglewood, CA and 2^nd Vice President of The National Baptist Convention of America, Inc.

Wednesday Night: “WOMEN’S MINISTRY,” Sister Mary Metoyer, President, “MEN’S MINISTRY,” Brother James Threat, President.  Our keynote speaker for the evening will be Rev. Samuel Tolbert, Pastor of Greater St. Mary’s Baptist Church, Lake Charles, Louisiana, and General Secretary of The National Baptist Convention of America, Inc.

Thursday Morning at 8:45 A.M. “CHILDREN, YOUTH & YOUNG ADULT CONVENTION”  Presentation/Competition Final.  Our “UNITY AWARDS LUNCHEON” will be from 12:00 P.M. to 1:30 P.M.  This event is designed to recognize those people who have made a personal impact in the development, growth and success of our Convention.  The ticket cost for the luncheon is $30.00.  Thursday from 2:00 P.M. to 4:00 P.M. “MISSION IN ACTION”.  Thursday Night at 7:00 P.M. will be the, “PRESIDENT’S NIGHT”.  As a symbol of Unity the colors for this event will be Black and White.
